The short answer

A sitemap helps search engines discover canonical public pages but does not guarantee indexing or ranking. Include only pages that load successfully and should appear in search.

Availability: Available to accounts with Website Builder access. Some tools depend on the selected plan, site role or connected service.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Sitemap

Use Sitemap in the editor top controls for the current website.

  2. Enable generation

Turn on Enable Sitemap Generation and review the displayed page inclusion settings.

  3. Choose public pages

Include canonical published pages and exclude drafts, private pages, redirects and error URLs.

  4. Preview Sitemap

Open Preview Sitemap and verify the domain, page URLs and XML output.

  5. Save and submit appropriately

Choose Save Settings, publish the site and use the sitemap URL shown for that domain in the relevant search webmaster tools.
