The short answer

Developer Mode exposes powerful code editing that can change the entire page. Save the current work, use trusted code and validate at every responsive size.

Availability: Available to accounts with Website Builder access. Some tools depend on the selected plan, site role or connected service.

Step-by-step

  1. Save the current canvas

    Choose Save before entering Developer Mode so the current editor state is preserved.

  2. Open Developer

    Use Developer in the top controls and select the intended page or editor area.

  3. Edit and validate

    Use Find/Replace, Format and Validate while making small, reviewable changes. AI Assistant output must also be reviewed.

  4. Use Live Preview

    Check rendering and browser-console errors before applying code to the canvas.

  5. Apply and save

    Choose Apply to Canvas only after validation, then Save and test Preview on desktop and mobile.
