The short answer

Workflow lifecycle controls separate unfinished editing from active processing. Saving creates a draft, while activation publishes an immutable version for future matching events.

Step-by-step

  1. Save the current graph

    Provide a workflow name and save the draft so nodes, connections, positions and sanitized configuration are stored.

  2. Run validation

    Resolve every linked graph, field, connection and capability error. Select an error to return to the affected node inspector.

  3. Use dry run

    Review the intended node order. Dry run does not send messages, modify contacts or create provider records.

  4. Activate deliberately

    Publish only after validation passes. Future matching events use the immutable published version.

  5. Pause when necessary

    Pause the workflow to prevent new processing and cancel its queued or retrying node jobs. Review Activity before reactivating.
